About 1 or 2 week(s) ago, our class started a project called "Rock On!" or something. Well, the project is to create a fictional band, and go through the steps that regular bands probably do. We had to create a logo, make-up music titles, hit songs, album names, member bios, etc. So far it hasnt been hard really, I think the only hard part was typing up the bio. It looks like the next set of assignments to come will be a bit more challenging though. Honestly Im not really trying on this project, I need some type of incentive, some sort of prize, maybe then Id try a bit harder, MAYBE even do this at home.

Marketing Methods
Well so far we have only been over 4 key marketing functions. Those would be: Product/Service Management, Selling, Distribution, and Focus Groups. Out of all the activities we did for each, I would have to say that the Focus Group activity was my favorite, simply because we got to drink Coke. Well, Coke, Pepsi, and cheap store brand cola. I also think that the Focus Group has been the most effective so far, because it takes the input from people who have tried their product, and they change their product based on the responses, hopefully getting a better reaction after the changed have been made.

Hurricane Ike
Well the past 10 days have been pretty normal for me. Of course the power was out, but my brother had bought a generator about the first day the lights went out. I wasnt in the city when the power went out though, me and some of my family went to Fort Worth Dallas, and stayed at a Howard Johnson late Friday night. We stayed there till the morning on Sunday.
When we got home, there was a loud noise in the garage, and it turned out to be the generator I mentioned. Since we had the generator we were able to plug in some fans, so we werent as hot as some of the other people without power. We also had some of the luxuries people were probably aching for during the power outage, T.V, Computer, etc. I guess were we lucky my brother bought it.
The only thing that sucked, well not for me, was getting gas for the generator, apparently there was a 30~1hour wait in line before you actually got to the pump, on top of that the gas stations that were actually open and had gas were not so close by. The generator lasts a while though. If its full it lasts about 8 hours. Luckily our house wasnt damaged at all, a few limbs from trees fell here and there, but nothing major.
The only good thing I guess would be that I was able to read my book for English that I was supposed to read for the summer. Also no school for a little over a week, got to catch some Z's as if it was some random vacation. So thanks Ike. =]

Interview Questions
Interview Questions for Business Management.
1. Tell me about you (favorite food, music, TV, show, etc)...: I dont really have a favorite food. I guess something like pizza? I dunno. Music, anything except Country. When I watch TV I usually watch some random game show, Supernatural, Smallville, Raper. Also re-runs of stuff like That 70's Show, etc.
2. What is your favorite subject in school? Why?: 3D Animation is probably my favorite class, I dont know if that counts though. Why? Because you dont really have to do...work. It is work but, you have fun while doing it, unlike math or something like that.
3. Is this the subject in which you excel?: I guess.
4। What are your strengths? Weaknesses?: Strengths are um, that I usually do my work I guess, and you dont have to worry about me doing my part. Weaknesses are that I like, never do homework.
5. Do you usually study for tests? How?: No, I dont usually study for tests. How? By not studying.

What I think Sports Marketing is.
I think that sports marketing is a class in which you learn how to market sports related items. Such as shoes (Jordans) , autographed items, maybe actual appearances of famous sports stars.
I hope to get some knowledge of how to market things out of this class. Even though it is sports marketing, Id like to know if I can use the techniques that we use in class and apply it to marketing something other than sports. Other than that I guess I dont know what else I would get out of this class.
